Standard Package

These blood values are measured when purchasing our standard package.

Metabolism

The metabolism is a complex structure consisting of many different reactions, all of which are interconnected. Based on certain measurement points, you can gain insight into whether your metabolism is working smoothly or whether there is an imbalance. We measure the following blood values:

  • Total cholesterol
  • LDL cholesterol
  • HDL cholesterol
  • Triglycerides
  • Long-term blood glucose (HbA1c)
  • Uric acid
  • Ferritin (iron)
  • Hemoglobin

Organs

Your organs also have certain values that indicate organ function. Based on the following values, we will see if everything is okay with your kidneys and liver:

  • Creatinine
  • eGFR
  • ALT (GPT)
  • AST (GOT)
  • GGT (γ-glutamyl transferase)

Performance

By performance we mean whether your body is in optimal condition to lead a vital and healthy life. We look at the condition of your cardiovascular, immune and thyroid systems.

  • Erythrocytes
  • MCV
  • MCH
  • MCHC
  • Hemoglobin
  • Haematocrit
  • CRP high-sensitive
  • Leukocytes
  • Thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH)

Add-Ons

You can optionally buy these blood values directly when booking.

Vitamin D3

The “sun vitamin” supports calcium metabolism and strengthens bones.

  • Vitamin D3 works against fatigue & pain.
  • Prolonged deficiency is considered a risk for increased bone fragility.

Vitamin B12 aktiv & Folsäure

Vitamin B12 and folic acid (vitamin B9), for example, are involved in the formation of DNA and are critical for our nervous system. Since they are involved in different places, it makes sense to determine both values.

  • Deficiency of vitamin B12 often occurs with a vegan diet or excessive alcohol consumption.
  • An undersupply of the two vitamins can lead to an increased risk of cardiovascular disease in the long term.

Frequently asked questions about blood values

Wie wurden die Parameter für die Blutanalyse ausgesucht?

As a prevention provider, we have made a careful selection of blood values that are in line with our goal of promoting preventive health in Switzerland. This selection is based on extensive studies, medical evidence and epidemiological data.

An important factor in deciding on certain blood parameters is their relevance to the majority of the population. By focusing on these parameters that often deviate from the norm, we can target our preventive measures and recommendations to improve the health and well-being of people in Switzerland.

In addition, we also focused on parameters that can be influenced by lifestyle. Our lifestyle has been shown to have a significant impact on the development and prevention of disease. By selecting blood parameters that can be positively influenced by a healthy lifestyle, we enable our clients to actively participate in their health and make positive changes in their lives.

New knowledge, medical research findings, and changing health trends may lead to certain parameters being considered more relevant in the future. We stay abreast of the latest medical research to ensure that our preventive measures are effective and targeted.

Can I test additional or customized blood values at Rikai?

No, you can only test our standard package and the add-ons. If you want to test individual blood values, you can contact our partner laboratory directly for an offer:

Which blood values do we not measure?

There are blood values that we have deliberately not included in our standard package. Most often, this is for one of the following reasons:

  • Too high laboratory costs for the determination of the blood value
  • A deficiency is very unlikely in our latitudes
  • No great significance for one-time measurements, since they are subject to e.g. daily fluctuations

Why don’t we measure hormones?

Hormones are biochemical substances that regulate and control many functions in the body. However, they are subject to natural variations throughout the day, week and menstrual cycle in women. Therefore, a one-time hormone measurement represents a snapshot and cannot capture the entire hormonal dynamics of an individual.

To obtain a comprehensive understanding of the hormonal cycle, repeated measurements over a longer period of time are required, ideally over several months. This is time-consuming and costly, and beyond the scope of a screening examination.

Why don’t we measure minerals?

We have not included minerals such as magnesium, zinc or phosphate in our standard package due to the rarity of deficiency symptoms in the Swiss population. However, this does not mean that these values are insignificant for individuals.

Why don’t we measure thrombocytes?

The reason for this is that small blood clots can sometimes occur during venous blood sampling. This would distort the thromocyte value, although this value would be completely normal in the body.
